The winner of the Grand Prix at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, MUBI announces the UK & Ireland release date and releases the official trailer for Minotaur.
MUBI, the global streaming service, film distributor, and production company, has unveiled the official trailer & artwork and announced the UK and Ireland theatrical release date for Minotaur, the powerful new film from Andrey Zvyagintsev (Le. The announcement follows the film’s acclaim at its World Premiere in Competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prix. UK cinemas will release the film on 27 November 2026
THE PREMISE
Russia, 2022. When Gleb, a successful company director, finds himself under siege from mounting corporate pressures and an increasingly unstable world, the collapse of his carefully ordered life accelerates toward violence.

BEHIND THE CAMERAS
Minotaur showcases the vision of Academy Award nominee Andrey Zvyagintsev, who directs and co-writes the film alongside Semen Liashenko. Known forLeviathan, Loveless, and The Return, Zvyagintsev brings his distinctive storytelling to this collaboration. Zvyagintsev’s previous films include Cannes prize-winners Leviathan (Best Screenplay) andLoveless (Jury Prize). His debut film, The Return, won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2003. Minotaur is Zvyagintsev’s sixth feature and continues his collaboration with cinematographer Mikhail Krichman and production designer Andrey Ponkratov.
