The horror genre has seen a number of trends come and go throughout the years, such as the slasher craze of the ’80s or the found-footage boom of the 2000s. More recently, one of the more bizarre trends has been taking iconic children’s characters who have been around long enough to have entered the public domain, and put terrifying spins on decades-old mythology. From unsettling versions of Steamboat Williein Screamboator How the Grinch Stole Christmasbeing turned into The Mean One, no character is safe.
One of the more bizarre revivals of beloved characters has been Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, in which we got a more deranged take on Christopher Robin‘s beloved companion. The movie became popular if only from a morbid curiosity from viewers who wanted to see the dark take on the concept, resulting in a sequel and the birth of the Twisted Childhood Universe, also known as the Poohniverse.
A new trailer for Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 has been released, which offers a glimpse of the mayhem contained in the sequel, which you can see below. The movie is set to be released in January 2027.

“Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3 is absolute carnage,” director Scott Chambers shared in a statement to IGN. “I counted 20 character deaths during filming, and every one of them was captured practically on camera using real prosthetics, special-effects makeup, and physical gore effects. I think this is a thrilling new entry in the Blood and Honey universe. It is bigger, bloodier and more ambitious, but it also plays an important part in the wider story we are building. This film leads directly towards Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble — our Avengers-style crossover — and acts as a major stepping stone towards that eventual finale.”

Chambers added, “The story reveals how these creatures became so angry, damaged and vengeful, giving audiences a deeper understanding of the monsters they have become. It also brings an exciting new character to life in Rabbit, voiced by the legendary Roger L. Jackson from Scream. His performance gives Rabbit a genuinely chilling presence, and I cannot wait for audiences to meet him.”
