House of the Dragon is airing season 3 as of June 2026 and is set to end with season 4. Season 2 opened to 7.8 million U.S. viewers, down 22% from the season 1 premiere, but it still showed strong follow-up growth and set streaming records in Latin America while also rolling out in Europe.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms premiered on January 18, 2026, wrapped its six-episode first season, picked up positive reviews, and was renewed for season 2 in 2027. Warner Bros. also has Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest lined up for 2027 or later. On top of that, there may be five or six more shows in development, including The Sea Snake and Ten Thousand Ships, while the planned Jon Snow sequel has been shelved.
If you follow Westeros, this whole expansion is worth keeping an eye on. Right now it feels like real franchise building, whether it grows into something on the scale of Star Wars or Marvel, or lands somewhere smaller.
You can watch House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms on HBO. On the gaming side, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad launched Frost and Steel on July 15, 2026, and Game of Thrones: War for Westeros is still set to arrive later in 2026.
