Welcome to your weekly look ahead at what’s coming to Netflix US over the next seven days! We are officially moving into the final week of September, and Netflix is closing out the month with a pretty banging lineup and finally, a new big Original movie to look forward to. Between one of the biggest blockbuster legacy sequels of the decade, a high-profile true-crime original movie, and some beloved cult-classic sitcoms, your autumn watchlist is about to get seriously packed.

Here is a breakdown of everything coming to Netflix between September 21st and September 27th, 2026, including three expanded highlights you definitely won’t want to miss.

Best New Shows and Movies Coming to Netflix This Week

    Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Strap in and prepare for Mach 10! Decades after the iconic 1980s original, Tom Cruise returns to the cockpit for what is widely considered one of the greatest legacy sequels ever made. Maverick is called back to Top Gun to train a new generation of elite, hotshot aviators for a near-impossible mission behind enemy lines. Complicating matters is the inclusion of “Rooster” (Miles Teller), the resentful son of Maverick’s late best friend, Goose. Packed with jaw-dropping practical aerial stunts and massive emotional weight, this is blockbuster filmmaking at its absolute finest.

    Unabomber (2026)

Netflix’s original film slate is delivering a heavy hitter this weekend, arguably kicking off its Fall slate properly. Directed by Janus Metz, this intense new dramatic thriller takes a fresh, chilling look at the life and crimes of notorious serial killer Ted Kaczynski. Russell Crowe leads a star-studded cast—including Shailene Woodley, Annabelle Wallis, and Jacob Tremblay—in this dark, gripping exploration of one of the most infamous manhunts in American history.

    Party Down (Seasons 1-3)

“Are we having fun yet?” One of the most acclaimed, cynical, and hilarious workplace comedies ever made is finally hitting Netflix. The Starz series follows a deeply dysfunctional crew of aspiring actors, writers, and misfits working for a Los Angeles catering company as they serve the Hollywood elite while desperately waiting for their big breaks. Featuring the legendary, decades-long gap between its second and third seasons, this series is an absolute masterclass in deadpan humor, crushed dreams, and pink bowties.
