Stranger Things stars Finn Wolfhard and Caleb McLaughlin were spotted filming a scene together this November and fans are going wild with theories about what they might be doing.
Earlier this week, the Stranger Things Updates account on X posted a 20-second video of Finn and Caleb together. They’re shown walking side-by-side down the street when they stop and notice something right ahead of them.
Fans are bringing back the Conformity Gate theory
Stranger Things wrapped up in January of this year, but fans have theorized there is a secret ninth episode yet to come, believing the actual series finale to be a fake out from the show’s villain Vecna. The theory is called “Conformity Gate,” and the new clip has made people start to question it yet again.
HBO recently dropped a surprise episode of It: Welcome to Derry for Halloween, which has made many question if Netflix will do something similar.
Ross Duffer teased something for Stranger Things Day
Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer also posted a meme on his Instagram Stories featuring stills from You Can See Everything with Nathan Fielder. The top image says, “I know what’s coming on Stranger Things Day,” followed by the bottom one saying, “No you don’t.”
The tease has got fans wondering what might be coming on Stranger Things Day, which is on Friday, November 6.

What is the most likely reason for Finn Wolfhard and Caleb McLaughlin to be filming together?
It seems likely that Finn and Caleb might have been filming something for the occasion, or another popular theory posited by Games Radar suggests they might just be working on a commercial for the 2027 Super Bowl, or even just a Thanksgiving ad. Other possibilities include a Saturday Night Live skit.
There are still other Stranger Things projects in development
Notably, Netflix is also working on a live-action Stranger Things spinoff and the Broadway play The First Shadow is expected to be filmed and come to the service at some point, too, so there are many possibilities that seem more likely than the mysterious and unproven ninth episode.
