The Academy Museum Gala is back for the sixth annual event and there are so many A-List stars in attendance for the event, so let’s recap everyone who stepped out on the red carpet!
The star-studded event is held to raise money for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and is hosted right after the end of the worldwide fashion weeks held from September to October, so there are so many fresh off the runway looks.
The latest gala took place on Saturday night (October 17) at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.
What is the Academy Museum Gala?
The Academy Museum Gala advances the museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema. Through the generosity of gala donors, proceeds from the evening will help ensure the museum continues to present world-class exhibitions, support educational opportunities, offer dynamic public screenings, and remain accessible to visitors of all ages.
Three people are being honored this year:
- The Icon Award, presented to Charlize Theron, celebrates an artist whose career has had a significant global impact.
- The Luminary Award, presented to John Carpenter, is given to an artist whose singular contributions have expanded the creative possibilities of filmmaking.
- The Vantage Award, presented to Colman Domingo, honors a film artist who is helping to challenge dominant narratives around cinema.
The gala is co-chaired by Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg, and Kate Capshaw.
