Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas once shared an unforgettable moment on the set of Wall Street. Douglas has revealed a shocking behind-the-scenes story from the 1987 movie, claiming Sheen taped a profane sign on Sean Young’sback during filming. The incident was one of several tensions surrounding the production.
Michael Douglas’ memoir reveals what Charlie Sheen taped on Sean Young’s back
Michael Douglas has shared the story in his new memoir, One Helluva Ride. According to Douglas, Young, who played his wife in the movie, had a difficult relationship with Sheen and several other people on set.
“Sean Young, who played my wife, had a terrible relationship with Charlie and pretty much everyone else besides me.” He also claimed that tensions eventually led Sheen to play a cruel prank on Young.
She caused a lot of problems on set,
“She caused a lot of problems on set, and many on the crew had an issue with her. It got so bad that at one point Charlie taped a sign on her back that read ‘Biggest c— in the world,’” Douglas recalled.
According to Douglas, Young did not notice the sign immediately. When he spotted it, he removed it from her back. “‘What was that?’ she asked. ‘Forget it,’” Douglas wrote, describing their conversation.
However, the incident did not remain a secret for long. The person responsible for providing artwork for the movie reportedly saw the sign and later told Young what had happened. Douglas acknowledged that Young had every right to be angry about the incident.
Douglas also described Young’s clashes with director Oliver
Douglas also described Young’s clashes with director Oliver Stone during production. Back in 2021, Young also recalled the incident herself in an interview with The Daily Beast. She remembered Douglas removing the sign without telling her what it said. She later confronted Sheen about the prank, criticizing his behavior.
Despite the tensions behind the scenes, Wall Street became one of the most recognizable movies of its era.
