Carrot Top is showing signs of improvement while remaining hospitalized in Las Vegas.
The 61-year-old comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, is now awake and breathing on his own, according to a new update from his representative.
The encouraging update comes two days after Carrot Top was hospitalized following a reported suicide attempt.
“Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care. He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him,” his rep Jami Schlicher told Page Six on Sunday (September 20).

“Humor has always been such an important part of who Scott is and how he connects with people, and that remains true today as he shares moments of humor with the medical staff caring for him,” she said.
His rep also revealed that messages from fans have been shared with the comedian during his recovery, including stories about how his comedy helped people through difficult periods in their lives.

Carrot Top Remains Hospitalized in Las Vegas
TMZ reported on Friday (September 18) that Carrot Topwas rushed to a Las Vegas hospital following a suicide attempt. His rep confirmed at the time that he was hospitalized and recovering, but did not address the circumstances that led to his hospitalization.
His scheduled Friday and Saturday performances at the Luxor were subsequently canceled.

Carrot Top has performed at the Luxor for more than two decades, with his residency beginning in 2005.
