Big Ten fans looking to save money on college sports streaming have a new deal to check out. The Big Ten Network has announced a discount on its B1G+ streaming service for eligible students, alumni, first responders, active military members, and nurses, allowing them to get access for $39.99 through the end of the 2026-27 academic year.
The offer cuts $50 off the standard $89.99 annual price and is available to qualifying members who verify their status through ID.me. However, fans will need to claim the deal by December 31, 2026, to take advantage of the savings.
How to Get the B1G+ ID.me Discount
Eligible fans can follow these steps to claim the offer:
- Visit the B1G+ ID.me verification page.
- Verify your eligibility through ID.me by confirming your qualifying group.
- Once verified, receive a unique promotional code.
- Visit B1G+ and enter the code during checkout.
- Complete your purchase for the discounted $39.99 pass.
Each verified user receives a unique promotional code that can only be used once. The offer is available through December 31, 2026, so eligible fans have until the end of the year to enroll.
There are a few other terms to know before signing up. The discounted pass expires on June 30, 2027, and will not automatically renew. Fans who want to use the ID.me offer again for future seasons must verify their eligibility annually.
Big Ten students should also know they can continue to access B1G+ for free when logging in on web and mobile devices through a campus IP address. However, the discounted subscription offers another way to watch their favorite teams when they’re away from campus.
What Can You Watch on B1G+?
B1G+ is the Big Ten Network’s subscription streaming service, offering nearly 3,000 additional live events, next-day on-demand archives, 24/7 school-specific channels, and a library of classic games and original programming. The service works with most PC web browsers and a wide range of streaming devices, including Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, Roku, XBOX, VIZIO TVs, iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets.
The service has a busy college sports schedule ahead, with plenty of exclusive events planned for the remainder of the fall and winter seasons.
According to the Big Ten Network, B1G+ will carry:
- More than 160 volleyball matches scheduled exclusively on the service during the fall season.
- More than 50 men’s basketball games during the season.
- More than 100 women’s basketball games during the season.
- More than 80 wrestling duals during the winter season.
Volleyball fans have several upcoming matchups to look forward to, including Penn State vs. UCLA on October 16, Wisconsin vs. USC on October 30, and Nebraska vs. Michigan State on October 31.
B1G+ will also stream a collection of men’s and women’s basketball exhibition games this fall. Upcoming men’s matchups include Indiana hosting North Carolina on October 18, Michigan State facing UConn on October 20, and Michigan taking on Houston on October 25. On the women’s side, Maryland will host Virginia Tech on October 19, followed by USC vs. Cal on October 25 and Iowa vs. Maryville on October 29.
Volleyball fans can also use B1G+’s multiview feature to watch up to four matches simultaneously. The feature is available on desktop, Fire TV, and Apple TV, with options to customize the viewing windows.
There’s one thing to keep in mind. B1G+ primarily focuses on live sporting events not televised, along with replays and archived programming, so it isn’t a complete replacement for a live TV streaming service. Games airing on the Big Ten Network, FOX, or FS1 can be streamed through the FOX Sports website or app using an eligible TV provider’s login credentials.
For eligible Big Ten fans, however, the ID.me offer provides a chance to follow more of their favorite teams for $39.99 through June 30, 2027, saving $50 compared with the standard annual price. Just remember to verify your eligibility and claim the deal by December 31, 2026.
