The Heroes & Icons Network has announced a special programming tribute to honor the life and legacy of Sir Patrick Stewart, the distinguished actor who died yesterday at the age of 86. Titled H&I Remembers Patrick Stewart, the five-episode event featuring Star Trek: The Next Generation will air on Monday, November 2, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET/PT. The marathon celebrates Stewart’s iconic performance as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the thoughtful and resolute starship commander whose blend of intellect, compassion, and moral clarity defined one of the franchise’s most enduring characters and helped solidify the series’ place in popular culture.
Stewart’s career extended across more than six decades and encompassed acclaimed stage work with the Royal Shakespeare Company as well as numerous television and film roles that showcased his commanding presence and emotional range. It was his portrayal of Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, however, that elevated him to international stardom. He later returned to the character in four theatrical films and in the sequel series Star Trek: Picard. A new generation of viewers also came to know him as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men films, where he brought dignity and gravitas to the role of the telepathic leader. In 2010, Stewart received a knighthood in recognition of his contributions to drama, reflecting a body of work consistently marked by intelligence and humanity.
Star Trek has long formed a central part of the Heroes & Icons weeknight and Sunday primetime schedule. The original series airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by The Next Generation at 9 p.m., Deep Space Nine at 10 p.m., Voyager at 11 p.m., and Enterprise at midnight ET/PT. Against that backdrop, the November 2 tribute offers a focused look at Picard through five standout episodes that highlight different facets of the captain and the series’ thematic ambitions.
The evening begins at 8 p.m
The evening begins at 8 p.m. with The Inner Light, in which Picard experiences an entire lifetime on a distant world and confronts questions of memory and identity. At 9 p.m., The Measure of a Man places the android officer Data at the center of a legal hearing that examines whether he is property or a sentient being entitled to rights. The Drumhead follows at 10 p.m., exploring the dangers of unchecked authority when a retired admiral investigates possible sabotage and treason aboard the Enterprise. At 11 p.m., Darmok finds Picard forced to bridge a profound language barrier with an alien culture that communicates solely through metaphor. The tribute concludes at midnight with Tapestry, in which Picard is given a chance to revisit a youthful decision that shaped the rest of his life.
This programming follows a separate Heroes & Icons tribute to actor Walter Koenig that airs on Sunday, November 1, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET/PT and features five episodes from Star Trek: The Original Series. The Heroes & Icons Network is carried on broadcast television and select cable and satellite systems, and it is also available on the streaming services Frndly TV, Philo, Fubo, and Sling TV. Viewers seeking local listings can consult the network’s website at handitv.com/wheretowatch, while the complete schedule appears at handitv.com/schedule. Through this extended look at Picard’s most memorable stories, the network aims to keep Stewart’s performances available to longtime fans and new audiences alike.
