    What would you do if everyone in your life, such as family, friends, and adoring fans, suddenly forgot everything about you? That’s the problem facing Takasegawa Gen (played by Yakusho Koji), a world-renowned actor who wakes up to discover his entire existence has been erased and must start from scratch. Coming to Netflix on October 22, 2026, Did Someone Happen to Mention Me? is one to add to your watch list. Here’s everything we know about Netflix’s upcoming Japanese comedy series.

    Did Someone Happen to Mention Me? is an upcoming Japanese Netflix Original comedy-drama directed by Fuminori Kaneko, Takuya Sakaue, and Atsushi Watanabe. The series was THE SEVEN is the production company, in association with ROBOT, with producer Kazuya Shimomura and creative producer Aki Isoyama

    When is Did Someone Happen to Mention Me? coming to Netflix?

    Thanks to the teaser released on Netflix’s official YouTube channel for Netflix Philippines, it has been confirmed that Did Someone Happen to Mention Me? will be released on October 22, 2026.

    An official poster for the series has also been released, confirming the release date.

    What is the plot of Did Someone Happen to Mention Me?

    Netflix has an official synopsis for the series:

    “Gen Takasegawa is an actor of such renown that it’s said that every Japanese person on the planet knows his name. When he takes on the challenge of performing in Shakespeare’s “King Lear” at London’s prestigious Globe Theatre, he receives a standing ovation of thunderous applause for his efforts. However, upon his triumphant return to his home country, Takasegawa is met with a reality beyond anything he could have imagined: nobody knows who he is. It’s a fresh start from scratch for Takasegawa, a renowned actor who has now become a nobody. Will this renowned actor who has hit rock bottom truly be able to bask in the glow of the spotlight once again?”

    Who are the cast members of Did Someone Happen to Mention Me?

    Yakusho Koji plays the lead role of Takasegawa Gen. The actor’s only appearance in a Netflix project was in the disaster drama The Days, Netflix’s answer to HBO’s Chernobyl, which is set during the Fukushima nuclear accident following the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in March 2011. Other titles starring Koji on Netflix are the series Riku Oh, Vivant, and the anime film Scarlet.

    • Yamamoto Hiroshi(The Specials)as Kariya.
    • Nakai Chisato(The Uzukawa Village Incident)as Nimata.
    • Sakai Maki(Chosen Home)as Chijimi.
    • Yoshida Yoh(Chastity High)as Nonomura Yoko.
