Blumhouse Atomic Monster has released the trailer for The Last Kiss, and the movie is not far behind it. The teen slasher romance arrives on digital platforms September 15 through Universal Pictures Home Entertainment — with no theatrical run and no subscription required to watch it.

The hook is efficient. Mckenna Grace plays Laurel, a teenager who expected her first kiss to be the fairy-tale version and got a curse instead: she sees the death of anyone she kisses. When a vision shows her crush dying inside a murder spree working its way through her friend group, the clock starts. She has to name the killer before the vision catches up to everyone.

That is a slasher structure welded to a psychic-premonition structure, and the trailer leans on the collision rather than hiding it. Every kiss is a death sentence and also the only investigative tool the heroine has. It is a nasty little engine for a movie aimed squarely at the sleepover crowd.

Where You Know Mckenna Grace From

Grace has been quietly assembling one of the more durable horror résumés of her generation. She was Judy Warren in Annabelle Comes Home, the young Theodora Crain in Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Hill House, and she has spent 2026 in two franchises at once — Scream 7 and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. The Last Kiss is the first of those to hand her the whole picture.

Jaden Michael (Colin in Black & White) and Arkira Chantaratananond (Twinless) co-star.

    Okumura’s Second Trip Through Blumhouse

Yoko Okumura directs and co-writes. Genre audiences met her in 2023 with Unseen, the Blumhouse thriller built around a legally blind woman guiding a kidnapping victim through the woods over a video call — a film that did a great deal with a very small box. The Last Kiss is her second picture for the company, and she is not underselling it.

The Last Kiss is a colorful fun teen slasher romance, meant to be the perfect spooky sleepover movie for the mystery lover of all ages.

The screenplay is credited to the Zivs and Okumura, from a story by the Zivs. Jason Blum, Sébastien K. Lemercier, James DeMonaco and Michael Fimognari produce, with Ryan Turek and Karen Harnisch executive producing. DeMonaco built The Purge; Fimognari shot Mike Flanagan’s Netflix run from The Haunting of Hill House through Midnight Mass. That is a deeper bench than a September digital release usually gets — and it makes this a quiet reunion, since Fimognari was the man behind the camera on Hill House the year Grace played young Theo.

    Straight to the Living Room

Blumhouse Atomic Monster is billing this one alongside Five Nights at Freddy’s and Obsession in its marketing, which tells you which audience it is chasing. Dropping the trailer days before the release, on digital only, tells you the rest: this is a Halloween-season title going where that audience already is.

The Last Kiss hits digital platforms on September 15, 2026.
