Mark Harmon’s Gibbs will be reuniting with another familiar face on “NCIS: Origins.”
Emily Wickersham will reprise her “NCIS” role as Ellie Bishop in multiple episodes of “Origins” this season, CBS has revealed. She’ll make her “Origins” debut in next Tuesday’s episode, airing October 27 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
Bishop is “enlisted by new director Tony DiNozzo to help Gibbs on his quest to track down the unknown assailants who shot him,” per the official description. CBS has also released a sneak peek at Bishop’s debut — which you can watch below — where Gibbs holds a gun on Bishop and she deadpans, “Missed you, too.” He says he told Tony that this investigation needs to stay off the books, and Bishop replies: “Yeah, well, that’s why he called me. My whole life is off the books.”
Gibbs tells her to “gear up,” and she laughs a little: “I never thought I’d hear you say that again.”

Emily Wickersham co-starred with Mark Harmon for eight seasons on NCIS
Emily Wickersham was an NCIS cast member
Emily Wickersham was an “NCIS” cast member for eight seasons, co-starring as agent Ellie Bishop alongside Mark Harmon’s Gibbs, before leaving the series in 2018, with Bishop joining a top-secret undercover organization. But she resurfaced on “NCIS” last season, reuniting with Torres and saving the day one more time before disappearing again. (Check out our post mortem interview with Wickersham and Wilmer Valderrama.)
Mark Harmon will appear on-screen in every episode this season on “NCIS: Origins” — a prequel series that stars Austin Stowell as a young Gibbs in the ’90s — with Gibbs taking a bullet in the season premiere and then trying to figure out who wants him dead. In this Tuesday’s episode (CBS, 10 p.m.), Gibbs reunites with Tony DiNozzo (played by “NCIS” returnee Michael Weatherly) and “enlists the new NCIS director’s help in identifying who shot him,” according to the official episode synopsis.
