Angel of My Dreams was Jade‘s first venture
“Angel of My Dreams” was Jade‘s first venture into solo music after Little Mix announced an indefinite hiatus, which commenced after their Confetti Tour in 2022.
The song was released on July 19, 2024 and was featured as the lead single from her debut studio album, That’s Showbiz Baby, which was released in 2025.
Jade sings in the chorus, “Angel of my dreams / I will always love you and hate you, it’s not fair / It’s so bittersweet / I will always want you and need you, you don’t care / You don’t.”
What’s the meaning of the song?
Jade said the song is about her relationship with the music industry.
The song is basically about my love/hate relationship
“The song is basically about my love/hate relationship with the industry, which, as we know, I’ve been a part of for quite some time,” she told Capital. “So, I’ve got a little bit to say about that, the good and bad. I wanted the song to sound quite chaotic, it’s basically my story squished into three and a half minutes.”
Some fans have speculated that Jadeis referring to Simon Cowell‘s management company when she sings “sold my soul to a psycho.”
About the music video, she said, “The concept is sort of rags to riches, and it was emotional actually, because for one bit I’m busking and walking past a Sainsbury’s Local. When I was 16, I would stand outside my local Sainsbury’s and sing Christmas songs.
