Elizabeth Holmes‘ partner Billy Evans has a full frontal nudity moment in the documentary You Can See Everything and now one of the film’s co-directors is opening up about why that was filmed.
After Billy is filmed working out in the gym, the next scene shows him in the shower at home. An elongated shot pans up on his fully naked body. After he gets out of the shower and puts a towel around his waist, he almost bumps into filmmaker Nathan Fielder, who is standing right outside of the bathroom.
The shower scene is one of the first wild moments of the movie, setting the stage for so many more to come.
So, why is that in the movie?
Director Lance Oppenheim explains the shower scene
Lance Oppenheim revealed in a Vulture interview
Lance Oppenheim revealed in a Vulture interview that they filmed inside Holmes‘ house for a full month for up to 16 hours a day and they were allowed to film everything except “privileged legal calls.”
“You get to their house, and her computer’s open. All of her emails are open. Her journal is open on the side of the couch,” Oppenheim said.
The co-director said that after accompanying Billy to the gym, he asked him what was happening next in his day. “Evans mentioned that he’d have to shower, and before Oppenheim could propose a tasteful, minimally invasive approach, he stripped and hopped in,” the article notes.
Oppenehim told Vulture, It seems like he really
Oppenehim told Vulture, “It seems like he really had something he wanted to show to us and to the world.”
The movie was rated R for graphic nudity because of the scene.
