Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-awaited Spirit has a new release date. The filmmaker announced on Sunday that the action drama will now arrive in theatres worldwide on October 29, 2027, positioning it as a major Diwali release.
Along with the announcement, Vanga unveiled a new poster featuring Prabhas in a rugged avatar. The actor is seen in close-up, wearing a dark cap and sporting a heavy beard, with most of his face kept partly in shadow.

Spirit Moves From March 2027 To Diwali
Spirit had previously been scheduled to hit theatres on March 5, 2027. Earlier this week, however, reports suggested that the film was likely to vacate the date as T-Series’ Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 had also been lined up for the same day.
The speculation has now ended with Vanga officially locking October 29, 2027, for the Prabhas-starrer.
Before revealing the date, the director teased fans by announcing that a new poster featuring “the man behind the shades” was on the way. Minutes later, he dropped Prabhas’ fresh look along with the worldwide release date.
The film marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Vanga, who last directed Ranbir Kapoor in Animal.
Spirit May Clash With Ramayana Part 2
The new date also sets up the possibility of a major box-office clash during Diwali 2027.
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 2, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, has also been announced for the Diwali 2027 period. With Spirit now dated for October 29, the two big-ticket films could arrive around the same festive window unless either schedule changes closer to release.
The first part of Ramayana is slated to release on November 5, 2026, while its concluding instalment has been planned for the following Diwali.
Spirit is being mounted as an action drama, with Prabhas playing a police officer. Triptii Dimri stars opposite him, while Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj are also part of the cast.
Vanga had earlier said that the team had completed a 40-day shooting schedule and still had around 65 days of filming left at that stage. At the time, he had maintained that the film was on track for its earlier March 2027 release.
The newly announced Diwali date gives the makers a substantially longer runway before release.
Backed by T-Series and Vanga Pictures, Spirit remains one of Prabhas’ major upcoming projects. With the latest poster now out and the release date officially locked, the film is set to arrive worldwide on October 29, 2027, during the Diwali festive period.
