Romee Strijd recently revealed that she was rejected from the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, despite being one of the brand’s former angels.
If you didn’t know, Romee walked in the show from 2014 to 2018. She was even chosen to wear the Shooting Star Swarovski look in the finale section of the show in 2018.
The 31-year-old Dutch model took to social media at the beginning of the week to talk about her experience in the casting process, how she’s fine with the rejection, and why she doesn’t feel supported by her own modeling agency.

Romee asked if there was a specific reason, because she would love more of an explanation as to why she didn’t get cast.
“She said, ‘You were already released,’ which is a completely different story than what they were telling me. The last couple weeks, I’ve been asking IMG to give me an update. Because for me, with two kids, a family to run, it takes up a lot of time,” the model said.
She ended her video by saying she doesn’t think she’s going to go through casting again and thinks the show will be good.

“Either way, it’s a closed chapter and it’s probably gonna be a good show,” she said. “I don’t think I’m gonna cast anymore in the future ’cause I don’t like the way it went. I don’t like how the whole process went. I don’t like the way I was treated, and I would love to keep the positive memories, obviously.”
A representative for Victoria’s Secret released a statement.
“Romee holds an important place within Victoria’s Secretand we deeply value her longstanding relationship with the brand and the dedication she has demonstrated throughout her career with us,” the rep told Vanity Fair.
The statement continued, “We can confirm that Victoria’s Secret and [casting director] Piergiorgio Del Moro communicated directly to her representation and formally released her from the casting process on September 6. While we cannot speak to the communications between talent and representation, Victoria’s Secret values and respects all talent partners—past, present and future.”
