Because Hulu is owned by The Walt Disney Company, it has access to some of the greatest movies ever made, like Titanic with Leonardo DiCaprioandKate Winslet.

In fact, the platform has so many good films that it can be hard to decide which ones to stream.

That’s why Watch With Us uses Rotten Tomatoes to help sort the great films from the good ones.

In October, Hulu is currently streaming three new movies with great Rotten Tomatoes scores that you should check out as soon as possible: Tim Burton‘s Edward Scissorhands with Johnny Depp, Ghostbusters with Bill Murray and Die Hard 2 with Bruce Willis.

    ‘Edward Scissorhands’ (1990)

Johnny Depp Through the Years: From Teen Idol to Oscar Nominee

Peg Boggs (Dianne Wiest) is a suburban housewife who is determined to be Avon’s best regional saleswoman. That’s why she’s willing to go where others won’t, like the strange decrepit mansion that rests on a hill overlooking the town. She’s shocked to discover that someone still lives there — it’s Edward Scissorhands (Johnny Depp), a man-made creature with pale skin, a funky hairdo, and, well, scissors for hands. She brings him home and tries to integrate him into her cookie-cutter neighborhood, but is Edward too different to be accepted by people who secretly fear him?

Tim Burton’s sweet fable is a movie that stands outside of time; it could be set in the 1950s or now, and you wouldn’t need to change a thing about it. That’s why it’s so universally appealing — anyone anywhere can relate to a story about an outsider who looks and acts different, but who just wants to be loved by someone. Depp and co-lead Winona Ryder are magical as two lonely souls who strike up an unlikely romance, but the real star of the film is Danny Elfman’s transcendent score, which sweeps you away with its lush melodies. When the Batman composer’s music swells as Ryder dances among the snowflakes Edward makes for her, it’s a rare cinematic moment that can’t be beat.

    ‘Ghostbusters’ (1984)

New York City in the 1980s is a weird place, but it’s never been this weird. Ghosts are stalking the New York City Public Library, while high-priced hotels are being terrorized by slime-spewing monsters. The police can’t handle these threats, so who is the public gonna call? The Ghostbusters, of course. Led by Peter Venkman (Murray), this ragtag team of geeky scientists is humanity’s best defenders against a growing supernatural threat. The demonic god Gozer (Slavitza Jovan) wants to invade our dimension, and it chooses classical musician Dana (Sigourney Weaver) and dorky accountant Louis (Rick Moranis) as its human vessels. Can the Ghostbusters bust the ultimate ghost of them all?

Ghostbusters wasn’t just one of 1984’s biggest hits; it also invented an entirely new subgenre, the sci-fi comedy film. Many have tried to imitate its success, but no film has quite equalled it, not even Ghostbusters 2 or the two reboots in 2016 and 2021, respectively. One big reason why is the original hasn’t aged a bit — it’s still as fresh and funny as ever, and the special effects and makeup are still impressive. Murray absolutely rules as the sarcastic wiseass Venkman, and Weaver shows she’s willing to bark like a dog (literally!) to get a well-deserved laugh.

    Deal of the Day

‘Die Hard 2: Die Harder’ (1990)

    Rotten Tomatoes score: 68 percent

John McClane (Bruce Willis) has a love-hate relationship with Christmas — well, mostly the latter. It was only two years ago that he had to save his wife and her coworkers from terrorists in a L.A. skyscraper. Now stuck at Washington Dulles International Airport during the holidays, he can’t help but be dragged into another incident that will leave him bruised and bloody by the end of it — if he’s still alive, that is. When a team of former military members hacks the airport’s communications and landing systems, they jeopardize flights that have low fuel, risking crashes. One of those planes has Holly (Bonnie Bedelia), John’s estranged wife, on it, so it’s even more imperative to John that he stop the terrorists from succeeding.

The original Die Hard is recognized as an action movie classic, as well as a holiday film staple, but Die Hard 2 is just as good, if not just a little better. The airport setting dramatically ups the stakes, with multiple planes circling above in danger of running out of fuel and crashing at any moment. The action is also amped up, with John engaging in multiple gunfights and bare-knuckle brawls that will leave you breathless. The sequel also retains the original’s sense of humor, with Willis quipping his way through the film like a seasoned pro.
