Sydney Sweeney traded her birthday suit for a surprisingly different message in her latest Novig sports trading ad. The actress pivoted from her viral nude campaign to deliver a toned-down follow-up spot that puts responsible trading front and center.
Sydney Sweeney has followed up her viral nude Novig ad with a new, toned-down spot for the sports prediction market app. The follow-up ad, uploaded to Novig’s YouTube channel on September 9, shifts focus from the provocative imagery to responsible trading messaging.
In the new ad, Sweeney delivers the line, “Trading on sports takes balls. You know what else does? Taking a time out. Setting a limit.” The spot promotes responsible use of the platform rather than leaning on the shock value of the original campaign. It runs significantly shorter than the first ad and carries a straightforward public-service tone.
The original campaign featured Sweeney posing nude
The original campaign featured Sweeney posing nude with sports equipment, and she joined Novig as a strategic partner and equity holder. In a statement at the time, Sweeney described the concept as being about cutting through noise and putting the focus on sports. She also clarified in that ad that the platform involves “no betting on wars or deaths and no politics.”
Novig launched nationwide last month under a federally regulated framework with a 21+ age requirement. The platform combines mechanics of modern financial exchanges with a sports-focused prediction market experience. Co-founder and CEO Jacob Fortinsky has said the company built its platform specifically for sports fans who deserve a dedicated prediction market.
The original ad drew significant online attention and followed Sweeney’s pattern of provocative promotional work. She previously starred in risque videos for her lingerie brand Syrn and a controversial American Eagle jeans campaign.
On the acting front, Sweeney will next appear in The Housemaid’s Secret, the sequel to her hit adaptation that grossed $400 million worldwide. She also has Netflix’s Gundam movie and StudioCanal’s The Custom of the Country on her upcoming slate.
