    Post-Entourage

Entourage may have concluded, but the creatives and stars still find ways to keep their bro train rolling. A couple of years ago, Entourage creator Doug Ellin reunited with the Kevins — Kevin Connelly and Kevin Dillon — for a proposed show with Charlie Sheen called Ramble On. The trailer looked to continue the satirized look at Tinseltown as Sheen attempts to step back into the spotlight with a new podcast. Jamie Lynn-Sigler and Mark Cuban, who both came in at the tail-end of Entourage, would also make appearances.

    Hug It Out?

Meanwhile, fast forward to today and Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier would reunite under the vague guises of their former characters, mixed with their real-life personas, in an ad for the new gambling app from Jake Paul, Betr. The ad takes an obvious inspiration from Entourage as Piven is tearing through a mansion party with biting quips and comebacks, just like the Ari Gold of old. The ad also uses guest appearances of athletes in a way that’s reminiscent of the cameos peppered throughout the show. Piven is looking for his “pretty boy,” which turns out to be Grenier as he parties on a yacht. Piven even pitches a movie to Grenier as if he were still playing his agent.

Doug Ellin recently took to his social media when someone tagged him in the video and, in not so many words, criticized the affectionate imitation. A user reposted the video from Piven’s official account and wrote, “I really hope @mrdougellin is the one who directed this” in a seemingly positive way. However, Ellin was not amused and answered, “I think it’s pretty damn obvious I didn’t write it. My god.”

Another user responded, “It was cool to see them together. I think some positivity here would’ve been pretty dope lol. I guess not being approached for this would suck, but if anything will get this off the ground it’s something like this.” Then, Ellin doubled down by saying, “I have zero positivity in watching things I busted my ass of on for years he turned into garbage seek. Zero positivity. Go create your own shit. And if you need money for Flip burgers. This is trash and theft. Period.”
