IMPORTANT! Today is The Last Day YouTube TV & DIRECTV Subscribers Can Claim Part of $50 Million From Disney

Today marks the final deadline for eligible YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream subscribers to file claims in a $50 million partial settlement of a federal antitrust lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company. Millions of consumers who paid for live television streaming packages between April 1, 2019, and March 31, 2026, may still receive a cash payment if they submit a valid claim form before the period closes.

The case, pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, alleged that Disney used its market position and carriage agreements involving popular channels such as ESPN to limit competition and raise prices for streaming live pay television services. Plaintiffs contended that these practices helped establish a higher baseline cost for packages offered by YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream, including services previously branded as DirecTV Now and AT&T TV Now. Disney has denied any violation of antitrust or consumer protection laws and has not admitted liability. The company agreed to the settlement to resolve the claims brought by YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream subscribers. Claims involving FuboTV remain unresolved.

To claim this deal, you need to check your email you used with these services and use the code and pin you received to claim it HERE.

Under the agreement, Disney will pay $50 million

Under the agreement, Disney will pay $50 million into a settlement fund. After deductions for administration, attorney fees, and related expenses, the remaining amount will be distributed on a pro rata basis. Individual payments will depend on how long each qualifying subscriber maintained service with YouTube TV, DirecTV Stream, or both during the class period. People who subscribed to both services can report both on a single form. Ninety percent of the net fund is allocated to class members who lived in certain repealer jurisdictions at any point during the relevant years, with the remaining ten percent going to others.

The YouTube TV Settlement Class covers anyone who purchased a YouTube TV subscription during the seven-year window. The DirecTV Stream Settlement Class includes purchasers of DirecTV streaming live pay TV services under any of the listed brand names in the same timeframe. Certain parties connected to Disney or the litigation are excluded.

Eligible subscribers must submit a claim by today, September 8, 2026. Forms can be completed online at the official settlement website onlinetvsettlement.com or mailed so they are postmarked by the deadline. Many class members received notices containing a unique identifier and PIN that simplify online filing. Those who did not receive a notice can still file by providing account details such as email address or phone number associated with the subscription. Proof of purchase is generally not required because the administrator will verify eligibility. Anyone who fails to file will receive no payment but will still be bound by the settlement if the court grants final approval.

A final fairness hearing is scheduled for January

A final fairness hearing is scheduled for January 14, 2027. If approved, distributions are expected to follow. Individual amounts are expected to vary and will likely be modest for many claimants, with longer-term subscribers receiving larger shares.

Consumers who held qualifying subscriptions should visit the official site promptly to review eligibility, complete a form, or obtain a paper version. Late claims will not be accepted. The settlement also includes limited non-monetary provisions regarding future carriage negotiations.
